Prior to monitoring changes in the width of cracks it is necessary to measure the crack width. This is called the present condition or 'snapshot' survey. The Avongard Crack Width Gauge is specifically designed for this purpose.
- Select a location where the edges of the crack are reasonably straight and parallel.
- Hold the gauge in contact with the crack at right angles across the crack.
- Align the gauge where the calibration and the crack are the same width.
- Record the width, length and location of the crack.
The scale at the bottom of the gauge may be used to measure crack widths greater than 7mm and cracks in corners and awkward locations.
Manufactured in rigid durable acrylic or polycarbonate.
Supplied in a protective case.
Calibrated to the edge scale which simplifies crack measurement in corners and awkward locations.
Suitable for internal or external use.
Manufactured to conform to BS EN ISO 9002: 1994 |
